Pathfinder Trade & Invest are delighted to lead, in November 2016,  their second Education & Training sector Trade Mission to Qatar.

About the mission:

  • This Education & Training Sector Mission will visit Doha from 5th to 8th November 2016.
  • The in-market programme will be arranged and set up by the British Chamber of Commerce Qatar on behalf of UKTI Doha and Pathfinder Trade & Invest.
  • The Mission Leader has firsthand experience in doing business in Qatar and will give delegates full in-market support.
  • An “Early Bird Discount” will be available to delegates joining the Mission prior to Thursday 22nd September.

Benefits of the mission:

  • This Mission’s exciting new concept and innovative approach moves away from the usual set of joint group meetings throughout, and offers a more bespoke and valuable programme to delegates.
  • Day One of the programme will feature a market briefing and a programme of sector specific group meetings.
  • A tailored individual programme of meetings for each delegate will be arranged for Day Two by the BCCQ, thus ensuring the programme entirely meets your own personal needs/objectives and you achieve the maximum benefit possible from your participation.
  • There will be Mission Brochure which will advertise your Company and product/service to potential contacts.
  • An optional specially negotiated, competitive group travel and accommodation package will be available.

Who is this mission for?

  • Education & Training providers/suppliers in the broadest form, i.e. Universities, Colleges, Schools, Technical & Vocational Training, Special Educational Needs, educational technology, software and resources, training materials, qualifications, assessment and quality assurance, furniture, equipment etc.
  • Mission participants must be British exporters of goods or services.   They may be a UK registered subsidiary of a foreign company, provided they are actively contributing to the British economy.

Market information:

  • Due to the expected increase in population and Qatar’s move away from dependency on the hydrocarbon industry education, training and research are priority areas.
  • Qatar’s Emir, Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, who was educated at the UK’s Sherborne School (international College) and subsequently attended the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst from where he graduated in 1998, has prioritised the domestic welfare of Qataris, leading to huge investments in healthcare, education and infrastructure.
  • The Qataris are keen to see a larger presence from the UK, both in the form of British universities setting up in Qatar, but also teaching and research staff; there are also opportunities for vocational training, British training materials and software.
  • Links with the UK are growing and our institutions are exporting their expertise. University College London was the first European University to establish a campus in Qatar’s Education City.
